MVHR PLUS is breathtaking in it’s simplicity, but often the best ideas are. Once the passive principles it adopts are understood it’s hard not to agree that the next generation of low energy homes should all include MVHR PLUS.

MVHR PLUS integrates with renewable energy technologies

MVHR PLUS has an even greater impact on the performance of a low energy home when integrated with other renewable or low energy technologies.

  • MVHR PLUS Solar integrates with Photovoltaic panels to use the heat generated beneath PV panels which is normally wasted to help heat the house. On a sunny winter day the air beneath PV panels can be over 20° and using this heat significantly reduces the energy demand to heat the home.

  • MVHR PLUS Ground integrates with with ground source heat pumps to transfer heat from the north vent to the ground loop. This increases the efficiency of the ground loop and can provide background cooling.

  • MVHR PLUS Snow works in conjunction with MVHR PLUS Solar and transfers excess heat from the home to the underside of Solar PV panels to stop snow forming on the panels to increase their operating time and make them viable in mountain climates.

  • MVHR PLUS Pool works in combination with MVHR PLUS Ground, using heat transfer from the north vent to the ground loop can enable the ground source heat pumps to heat a swimming pool during summer months. Heating the pool also assists with background cooling to the house.
